Abstract
Various illustrative examples of a synchronization mechanism are described. A synchronization schema may be adopted to allow an application to save configuration details for a synchronization operation in a format which may easily be discovered by other applications without the need of a registration/de-registration mechanism. The synchronization mechanism may be executed in response to user entered parameters specifying the type and other characteristics of operation.
Claims20
A method for synchronization comprising:
- creating a partnership at a local location to facilitate synchronization between a plurality of data objects;
- searching, at a remote location, for the created partnership;
- discovering, at the remote location, the created partnership;
- initiating, at the remote location, a synchronization operation on the created partnership;
- and
- synchronizing the plurality of objects based on a criteria.
One or more computer readable media storing computer-executable instructions which, when executed on a computer system, perform a method comprising:
- creating a partnership at a local location;
- determining if access rights to the partnership are restricted;
- disallowing a computer system at a remote location to discover the partnership if access rights to the partnership are restricted;
- allowing a discovery of the partnership by the computer system at the remote location if access rights to the partnership are not restricted;
- allowing the computer system at the remote location to initiate the synchronization;
- and
- synchronizing the plurality of data objects based on a criteria.
A method for synchronization comprising:
- creating a partnership at a local location to facilitate synchronization between a plurality of data objects;
- searching, at a remote location, for the created partnership;
- discovering, at the remote location, the created partnership without use of a registration/deregistration mechanism;
- initiating, at the remote location, a synchronization operation on the created partnership;
- and
- synchronizing the plurality of objects based on a criteria, wherein the synchronization is configured to either execute concurrent with additional synchronization operations or is individually selected.
