System and method for creation of universal location reference objects

A system comprising:

• a software logic to
• a. determine a set of name information corresponding to a geographic item associated with a location;
• b. determine a set of coordinates corresponding to the geographic item associated with a location;
• c. assign a unique code identifying the geographic item associated with a location;
• d. create a pointer field to a file-of-reference, said pointer designating the geographic item associated with a location in the file-of-reference;
• e. create a pointer field to a third-party file designating the geographic item associated with a location in the third-party file;
• f. create a file-of-reference back pointer field comprising a file-of-reference back pointer pointing from the file-of-reference to the universal location reference object via the unique code;
• g. create a third-party file back pointer field comprising a third-party back pointer uniquely pointing from the third-party to the universal location reference object via the unique code;
• and
• h. combine the set of name information, said set of coordinates, said unique code, said file-of-reference pointer field, said third-party file pointer field, said file-of-reference back pointer field, and the third-party file back pointer field together to create the universal location reference object.

A method to create a universal location reference object comprising the steps of:

• a. determining a set of name information corresponding to a geographic item associated with a location;
• b. determining a set of coordinates corresponding to the geographic item associated with a location;
• c. assigning a unique code identifying the geographic item associated with a location;
• d. creating a pointer field to a file-of-reference, said pointer designating the geographic item associated with a location in the file-of-reference;
• e. creating a pointer field to a third-party file designating the geographic item associated with a location in the third-party file;
• f. creating a file-of-reference back pointer field comprising a file-of-reference back pointer pointing from the file-of-reference to the universal location reference object via the unique code;
• g. creating a third-party file back pointer field comprising a third-party back pointer uniquely pointing from the third-party to the universal location reference object via the unique code;
• and
• h. combining the set of name information, said set of coordinates, said unique code, said file-of-reference pointer field, said third-party file pointer field, said file-of-reference back pointer field, and the third-party file back pointer field together to create the universal location reference object.
