Abstract
Improved stent configurations exhibiting limited recoil, resistance to compression and improved longitudinal flexibility.
Claims22
A stent of generally cylindrical shape comprising a plurality of interconnected cells having relatively wide end portions joined by a narrow center portion, the cells arranged end to end, longitudinally in longitudinal rows with respect to the longitudinal axis of the stent, characterized in that longitudinally adjacent cells are engaged by pairs of longitudinal support members having curved end portions.
A stent, the stent comprising
- a plurality of cells having relatively wide end portions joined by a narrow center portion, the cells arranged end to end, longitudinally in longitudinal rows with respect to the longitudinal axis of the stent;
- a plurality of first circumferentially extending segments, longitudinally adjacent cells being engaged by a first circumferentially extending segment;
- and
- a plurality of second circumferentially extending segments, circumferentially adjacent cells being engaged by at least one second circumferentially extending segment.
