Abstract
A method for visualizing one or more objects of interest within a volume of imaging data includes the steps of receiving a volume of imaging data and displaying the one or more objects of interest within the volume by adaptively changing the amount of information displayed from the volume based on (1) a viewing direction of the volume, (2) a position of the one or more objects of interest within the volume, and (3) importance values of materials within the volume.
Claims19
A method for visualizing one or more objects of interest within a volume of imaging data, the method steps comprising:
- receiving the volume of imaging data;
- and
- displaying the one or more objects of interest within the volume by adaptively changing the amount of information displayed from the volume based on 1) a viewing direction of the volume, 2) a position of the one or more objects of interest within the volume, and 3) importance values of materials within the volume.
A program storage device readable by machine, tangibly embodying a program of instructions executable by the machine to perform method steps for visualizing one or more objects of interest within a volume of imaging data, the method steps comprising:
- receiving the volume of imaging data;
- and
- displaying the one or more objects of interest within the volume by adaptively changing the amount of information displayed from the volume based on 1) a viewing direction of the volume, 2) a position of the one or more objects of interest within the volume, and 3) importance values of materials within the volume.
A system for visualizing one or more objects of interest within a volume of imaging data, the system comprising:
- a memory to store a visualization program;
- a processor to execute the visualization program;
- and
- a display unit,
- wherein the visualization program (1) receives the volume of imaging data, and (2) displays a new image on the display unit by adaptively changing a visible amount of information of the volume based on (i) a viewing direction of the volume, (ii) a position of the one or more objects of interest within the volume, and (iii) importance values of materials within the volume.
