An information processing method comprising the steps of:

• displaying on a display section a picture based on a video signal and a caption synchronized with said picture and based on caption information attached to said video signal;
• and
• acquiring common character string information common to said caption information and to related information related to music contents stored in a storage section, by comparing said caption information with the related information;
• wherein said displaying step displays on said display section said caption in which the common character string information acquired by said character string information acquisition section is highlighted in a predetermined manner.

A storage medium which stores a computer-readable program for causing a computer to execute a procedure comprising the steps of:

• displaying on a display section a picture based on a video signal and a caption synchronized with said picture and based on caption information attached to said video signal;
• and
• acquiring character string information common to said caption information and to related information related to music contents stored in a storage section, by comparing said caption information with the related information;
• wherein said displaying step displays on said display section said caption in which the character string information acquired by said character string information acquisition section is highlighted in a predetermined manner.
