Sending permission assignment in telecommunications system

An access providing unit configured to:

• provide access to a communications system for at least one communication terminal;
• be located apart from a control unit configured to schedule data transfer between said at least one communication terminal and the communications system on at least one transmission channel such that a communication terminal is allowed to send on the transmission channel when a sending permission is assigned to said communication terminal;
• and
• assign a sending permission to the communication terminal.

An arrangement comprising:

• a control unit configured to schedule data transfer between at least one communication terminal and a communications system on at least one transmission channel;
• at least one communication terminal configured to send on the transmission channel when a sending permission is assigned to the communication terminal;
• and
• an access providing unit which is separate from the control unit and which is configured to:
• provide an access to said communications system for said at least one communication terminal;
• and
• assign additional sending permissions to the communication terminal in response to receiving an indication from the communication terminal that the communication terminal has more data to be sent.

An access providing unit configured to:

• provide access to a communications system for at least one communication terminal;
• be located apart from a control unit configured to schedule data transfer between said at least one communication terminal and the communications system on at least one transmission channel such that a communication terminal is allowed to send on the transmission channel when a sending permission is assigned to said communication terminal;
• and
• assign additional sending permissions to the communication terminal in response to receiving an indication from the communication terminal that the communication terminal has more data to be sent.

A method comprising:

• providing, by an access providing unit, an access to a communications system for at least one communication terminal;
• scheduling, by a control unit separate from the access providing unit, data transfer between said at least one communication terminal and the communications system on at least one transmission channel;
• allowing a communication terminal to send on the transmission channel when a sending permission is assigned to the communication terminal;
• and
• assigning, by the access providing unit, a sending permission to the communication terminal.
