Abstract
The present invention provides a method and a circuit for driving a color liquid crystal display in a normal driving mode and a power saving mode, wherein in the normal driving mode, voltages corresponding to image display data are applied to data electrodes of the color liquid crystal display, and wherein in the power saving mode, voltages corresponding to highly significant bit signals of the image display data are applied as display data signals to the data electrodes.

A method of driving a color display having a driving circuit for driving data electrodes of a displaying device, wherein in normal driving mode, gray scale signals corresponding to all bit signals of an image display data are output to the data electrodes via an output amplifier, and wherein in power saving mode, gray scale signals corresponding to highly significant bit signals of the image display data are output to the data electrodes without an output amplifier.
