Induction Heating System

An induction heating system comprising:

• a compressible pad having a first surface and a second surface;
• a flexible metallic sheet attached to the first surface of the compressible pad;
• a seat for supporting the second surface of the compressible pad;
• and
• a coil in the seat for receiving an alternating electrical current;
• wherein the coil induces a current in the flexible metallic sheet when the coil receives an alternating electrical current and the compressible pad is compressed, thereby placing the flexible metallic sheet in close proximity to the seat;
• whereby the current induced in the flexible metallic sheet causes the flexible metallic sheet to emit heat.

An induction heating system comprising:

• a first article having a resistance means for resisting an electric current;
• a field generating means for producing a magnetic field around a second article when an alternating electrical current is applied to the field generating means;
• wherein the magnetic field induces a current in the resistance means when the field generating means is placed in close proximity to the first article;
• whereby the current induced in the resistance means causes the resistance means to generate heat that can be applied to a body through contact with the first article.
