Lateral Separating Device for Paper Webs

Method for the lateral separation of least one moving paper web, comprising:

• (I) a paper introduction region with at least one continuously or discontinuously driven web supply roller,
• (II) a buffer region, where the web is prepared for the discontinuous forward motion,
• (III) a cutting device containing a cutting means, and
• (IV) a paper lead-off region with discontinuous web forward motion, characterized in that the buffer region (110) comprises at least one tube group (120;
• 150) with two tubes (121, 122;
• 151, 152) that are movable relative to at least one third tube (123;
• 153) of group (120;
• 150) in the direction perpendicular to the web, wherein tube group (120, 150) is arranged between the paper merger region with tubes (140, 142) and the discontinuously driven web feed (130) in order to form a double turned web loop of variable length, wherein the length determined by the distance between the tubes of the tube group is controlled by a controller connected to the continuously or discontinuously driven web supply roller and the discontinuous forward motion, and wherein the device is operated with a web supply speed of at least 120 m/minute, preferably at least 160 mm/minute and, in particular 180-210 m/minute.
