Abstract
The present invention provides an improved control system and method for the absorption refrigeration process. The system includes sensors that measure the absorption process in order to determine if the absorption cycle is continuous. A control unit in communication with the sensors which compares the measured sensor values to predetermined safe limits. When the control unit determines that safe limits have been exceeded, the control unit communicates with actuators adjusting the absorption cycle heat source, ultimately protecting the absorption refrigeration process from damage. Further, the control may reestablish the absorption cycle heat source when predetermined safe operation conditions are detected.
Claims18
A method of automatic control for protection of a single pressure absorption refrigeration cooling unit, the method comprising:
- (a) measuring said cooling unit parameters, and
- (b) processing said measured cooling unit parameters, and
- (c) actuating heat source control.
An automatic protective controller circuit for a single pressure absorption refrigeration cooling unit, comprising:
- (a) one or more sensors measuring the cooling unit parameters, and
- (b) circuitry comparing said measured cooling unit parameters, and
- (c) one or more cooling unit heat source actuators which regulate heat input, whereby said circuitry comparing said measured cooling unit parameters activates the cooling unit heat source actuators when predefined cooling unit parameters are outside of safe limits.
A protective controller for a single pressure absorption refrigeration system, comprising:
- (a) one or more means for sensing cooling unit parameters, and
- (b) means for processing said parameters, and
- (c) one or more means for actuating cooling unit heat source control, whereby protection of said cooling unit results when the cooling unit parameters do not satisfy predetermined safe levels.
