Abstract
An averaging circuit includes an averaging unit and an offset compensation unit. The averaging unit generates an average signal from first and second input signals. The offset compensating unit is coupled to the averaging unit for conducting away bias currents from the averaging unit for preventing an offset in the average signal when any of the first and second input signals is too low or too high.

An averaging circuit comprising:
- an averaging unit for generating an average signal from first and second input signals;
- and
- an offset compensating unit coupled to the averaging unit for conducting away a bias current from the averaging unit for preventing an offset in the average signal.
An averaging circuit comprising:
- means for generating an average signal from first and second input signals;
- and
- means for preventing an offset in the average signal.
A method for generating an average signal comprising:
- generating the average signal from first and second input signals;
- and
- preventing an offset in the average signal when at least one of the first and second input signals is outside of a predetermined range.
