Abstract
A method for non-surgically treating an internal nasal valve of a patient comprising, injecting a working device into the internal nasal valve of the patient, wherein the injected working device in the nasal tissue causes an alteration of an internal or external nasal valve. A device introduced by injection into the nose, allowing for structural support or filling of defects in the nose, and causing a change in external shape of the nose. The device and inserts and implants described also have use in cosmetic applications relating to the facial tissue.
Claims31
A method for non-surgically treating an nasal valve of a patient comprising, injecting a working device into the nasal and/or paranasal tissues of the patient, wherein the injected working device causes an alteration of an internal nasal valve.
A method for minimally invasive treating an internal nasal valve of a patient comprising, injecting a working device into the internal nasal valve of the patient, wherein the injected working device in the internal nasal valve causes an alteration of an internal nasal valve angle.
A method for non-surgically treating disorder affecting the nose in a human subject, said method comprising the steps of:
- a. providing an introducing working device that has a proximal end and a distal end;
- b. advancing the introducing device through the nose;
- c. providing a working device that is positionable in an operative location and useable to perform a therapeutic procedure within the opening of the nose;
- d. using the introducing device to facilitate advancement of the working device to the operative location;
- and e. using the working device to perform a therapeutic procedure within the nose.
An apparatus for use in a treatment of a nasal valve condition of a patient's nose where said treatment includes a non-surgically placing an implant in the nose;
- said apparatus comprising:
- a. an implant having a length, width and thickness sized for said implant to reside within the nose:
- b. said implant further selected to have a stiffness to resist bending at said nasal and paranasal tissues of the patient.
An apparatus for use in a treatment of an nasal valve collapse where said treatment includes a non-surgically placing an implant in the nose;
- said apparatus comprising:
- a. an implant having a length, width and thickness sized for said implant to reside within the nose:
- b. said implant further selected to have a stiffness to resist bending at said nasal and/or paranasal tissues of the patient
An apparatus for use in a treatment of cosmetic related conditions where said treatment includes a non-surgically placing an implant in the nose;
- said apparatus comprising:
- a. an implant having a length, width and thickness sized for said implant to reside within the nose:
- b. said implant further selected to have a stiffness to resist bending at said nasal and/or paranasal tissues of the patient.
A method for non-surgically treating an internal or an external nasal valve of a patient comprising, injecting a working device into the nasal and/or paranasal tissues of the patient, wherein the injected working device causes an alteration of an internal or an external part(s) of the nasal valve.
