Abstract
An eye surgical illumination unit, comprising a light source for visual inspection of eye tissue to be treated, a connector for light guides for guiding light exiting from the light source to the eye tissue, and optical elements for defining a light path along which light exiting from the light source can travel to the connector, and a housing in which the light source and the optical elements are accommodated. The illumination unit is arranged for an improved tuning of light operatively traveling along the light path and to a light guide connectible to the connector.
Claims23
An eye surgical illumination unit, comprising a light source for visual inspection of eye tissue to be treated, a connector for light guides for guiding light exiting from the light source to the eye tissue, and optical elements for defining a light path along which light exiting from the light source can travel to the connector, and a housing in which the light source and the optical elements are accommodated, wherein the illumination unit is arranged for an improved tuning of light operatively traveling along the light path to the connector.
A light guide for eye surgical applications, comprising a fastening element for connection to a connector of an eye surgical illumination unit, and an optical identification code.
A method for readying for use an eye surgical illumination unit to which a light guide is connectible, wherein tuning of light operatively exiting from the illumination unit to the connected light guide is realized.
A computer program product comprising instructions for having a processor carry out a method for readying for use an eye surgical illumination unit to which a light guide is connectible, comprising identifying the light guide with the aid of an optical measurement.
A computer system, comprising a processor for carrying out a method for readying for use an eye surgical illumination unit to which a light guide is connectible, further comprising an optical measuring device which is connected to the processor with a data link.
