Abstract
The present invention comprises compositions methods and cell lines related to controlling insects. An embodiment of a composition comprises a plant essential oil and targets at least one receptor of insects chosen from tyramine receptor, Or83b olfactory receptor, and Or43a olfactory receptor, resulting in a change in the intracellular levels of cAMP, Ca2+, or both.
Claims71
A composition for controlling insects, comprising:
- at least two oils, wherein the composition targets at least one receptor of the insects chosen from tyramine receptor, Or83b olfactory receptor, and Or43a olfactory receptor, resulting in a change in the intracellular levels of cAMP, Ca2+, or both in said insects.
A composition for controlling insects, comprising at least one oil chosen from:
- black seed oil and lilac flower oil.
A composition for controlling insects, comprising:
- at least one plant essential oil;
- and
- an insect control agent, wherein the final concentration of said insect control agent is lower than required to exhibit insect control activity when said insect control agent is used alone.
A composition having insect control activity, the composition comprising at least two plant essential oils, wherein at least one of the two plant essential oils is selected from the group consisting of:
- t-anthole, black seed oil, camphene, carvacrol, d-carvone, l-carvone, 1,8-cineole, p-cymene, diethyl phthalate, eugenol, geraniol, isopropyl citrate, lemon grass oil, lilac flower oil (LFO), lime oil, d-limonene, linalyl anthranilate, linalool, lindenol, methyl citrate, methyl di-hydrojasmonate, myrcene, perillyl alcohol, phenyl acetaldehyde, α-pinene, β-pinene, piperonal, piperonyl, piperonyl acetate, piperonyl alcohol, piperonyl amine, pulegone, quinine, sabinine, α-terpinene, terpinene 900, α-terpineol, gamma-terpineol, 2-tert-butyl-p-quinone, α-thujone, thyme oil, and thymol, and wherein the composition binds to at least one receptor selected from the group consisting of a tyramine receptor, an Or83b olfactory receptor, and an Or43a olfactory receptor, and wherein the at least two plant essential oils provide a synergistic effect on insect control activity.
