A method for inhibiting the activity of dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DDP-IV) in a subject, which comprises administering to the subject an effective amount of a composition comprising as an active ingredient an extract from Piper longum, an extract from Marrubium vulgare, an extract from Oryzasativa var. glutinosa or its combination.
