Abstract
A method for inactivating biological agents dispersed within a gaseous medium includes a step which consists in treating the gas flow with a photoactivated semiconductor, in particular with photoactivated titanium oxide. The invention also concerns a device for implementing the method, as well as the method for decontaminating gaseous medium containing harmful, toxic or pathogenic biological agents, such as bacteria.

1-15. (canceled)
A method for inactivating biological agents which are dispersed in a gas medium, said method comprising a step consisting in placing the gas medium in contact with a photoactivated semiconductor material inside a reactor (2) whose internal surface comprises a plurality of protrusions (5) which are arranged in a helical manner around a line (L), the photoactivated semiconductor material being used in the form of a deposit (6) on the internal surface of the reactor, said deposit being at least on the protrusions (5).
