Abstract
A sizing center for and a method of sizing different styles of window coverings includes at least two sizing mechanisms disposed on a sizing center in which each sizing mechanism is adapted to size a different style of window covering. Each window covering includes a color marking. At least two measuring scales are disposed on the sizing center, each measuring scale being associated with a sizing mechanism and having a different color, and each color associated with a sizing center being associated with a color marking of a window covering.
Claims25
In combination, a customized window covering device, a window covering and a squaring block for squaring the window covering in the customized window covering cutting device, the combination comprising:
- a customized window covering device comprising:
- a support surface;
- a first cutting station at a first end of the support surface;
- and
- a second cutting station at a second end of the support surface;
- a window covering comprising;
- a top rail and a bottom rail connected to one another by a plurality of connecting lines, the top rail and the bottom rail each having a first end and a second end and a first and second side;
- and
- a plurality of slats disposed between the top rail and the bottom rail, the plurality of slats being adjustable both in space between each slat and the relative angle between each slat in the plurality of slats and a bottom surface of the top rail;
- a squaring block slidable along the support surface between the first cutting station and the second cutting station, the squaring block comprising:
- a first side and a second side, the second side being substantially parallel to the first side;
- a set block extending from the first side towards the first cutting station of the customized window cutting device;
- wherein one side of the squaring block engages the first end of the top rail and the first end of the bottom rail, the top and bottom rail being oriented generally lengthwise between the squaring block and the first cutting station, the squaring block arranging the top rail and the bottom rail substantially perpendicular to a cutting plane of the first cutting station, the squaring block translating along the support surface to locate the second end of the top rail and the second end of the bottom rail beyond the cutting plane of the first cutting station corresponding to the amount of blind to be removed to match a cut blind length to a desired blind length.
A customized window covering device comprising:
- a support surface;
- a first cutting station at a first end of the support surface;
- and
- a second cutting station at a second end of the support surface;
- and
- an electronic controller that activates the first and second cutting stations.
In combination, a customized window covering device, a window covering and a clamp for securing the window covering in the customized window covering cutting device, the combination comprising:
- a customized window covering device comprising:
- a support surface;
- a first cutting station at a first end of the support surface;
- and
- a second cutting station at a second end of the support surface, the second cutting station including an opening;
- a window covering comprising;
- a top rail and a bottom rail connected with a plurality of connecting lines, the top rail and the bottom rail each having a first end and a second end;
- and
- a plurality of slats disposed between the top rail and the bottom rail, the plurality of slats being adjustable both in space between each slat and the relative angle between each slat in the plurality of slats and a bottom surface of the top rail;
- a clamp proximate the opening of the second cutting station, the clamp comprising:
- a fixed stop;
- and
- an adjustable stop slidable along an axis that is substantially parallel to the support surface and substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the customized window covering device;
- wherein the window covering is secured in the opening between the fixed stop and the adjustable stop before the window covering is sized, the slats being positioned in the opening in a generally upright orientation.
