Abstract
A tool holder for a powered hammer includes a tool holder housing. An actuator is coupled to the tool holder housing and is moveable among a range of operating positions that include a first position where the actuator locks a tool within the tool holder by engaging a rib on the tool, a second position where the actuator locks a tool within the tool holder by engaging a recess in the tool, and a third position where the actuator allows a tool to be released from the tool holder. An actuator locking mechanism releasably locks the actuator in at least the third position.
Claims20
A tool holder for a powered hammer comprising:
- a tool holder housing;
- an actuator coupled to the tool holder housing and moveable among a range of operating positions that include a first position where the actuator locks a tool within the tool holder by engaging a rib on the tool, a second position where the actuator locks a tool within the tool holder by engaging a recess in the tool, and a third position where the actuator allows a tool to be released from the tool holder;
- and
- an actuator locking mechanism that releasably locks the actuator in at least the third position.
A tool holder for a powered hammer comprising:
- a tool holder housing;
- an actuator for locking and unlocking the tool holder;
- a rod that moveably mounts the actuator on the tool holder housing so that the actuator can be moved through a range of operating positions that include a first position where the actuator locks a tool within the tool holder and a second position where the actuator allows a tool to be released from the tool holder;
- at least one biasing device coupled to an end portion of the rod;
- and
- an actuator locking mechanism that releasably locks the actuator in the second position.
