Abstract
A facility for providing a workflow report document for a number of instances of a business process is described. In connection with information specifying the display of an arrangement of shapes each representing a constituent action of the business process, the facility provides information specifying the display in connection with shapes of the arrangement of at least one business process measure aggregated across all of the instances of the process.

A computer-readable medium from which can be read a workflow report document data structure for a plurality of instances of a distinguished business process, the data structure comprising:
- information specifying the display of an arrangement of shapes each representing a constituent action of the distinguished business process;
- and
- information specifying the display in connection with shapes of the arrangement of at least one business process measure aggregated across the plurality of instances,
- such that the contents of the data structure may be used to display a workflow report document.
A method in a computing system for constructing a workflow report document for a business process, comprising:
- accessing a drawing document depicting the business process comprising a plurality of shapes each corresponding to a constituent action of the business process whose performance is tracked in an action-tracking data store and each represented by a shape data structure;
- and
- for each of the shapes of the plurality,
- receiving user input specifying a reference into the action-tracking data store usable to obtain performance-tracking information for the action to which the shape corresponds;
- and
- storing the reference in the shape data structure representing the shape.
A computing system for displaying a dynamic graphical report on the result of performing a plurality of instances of a workflow, comprising:
- a memory storing a drawing document depicting the workflow comprising a plurality of shapes each corresponding to a constituent action of the workflow whose performance is tracked in an action-tracking data store and each represented by a shape data structure, at least one shape data structure containing a reference into an action-tracking data store;
- an accessing subsystem that uses the reference to obtain performance-tracking information for a constituent action of the business process the action across the plurality of instances of the workflow;
- a display subsystem that displays the stored document in connection with a visual indication of the obtained performance-tracking information.
