Milk pump

A milk pump for pumping milk from a woman's breast, comprising:

• milk collecting means for receiving milk pumped from said woman's breast;
• a manual pumping unit which includes:
• wall means forming and surrounding a displacement space, said displacement space defining a longitudinal axis and having a predetermined cross-sectional dimension;
• connecting means for connecting said displacement space to a breast hood;
• suction means displaceable in said displacement space substantially along said longitudinal axis, said suction means being formed as a cup-shaped membrane so that a first portion of said cup-shaped membrane extends transversely to the longitudinal axis of said displacement space, whereas a second portion extends substantially in circumferential direction, said membrane being able to move substantially free of friction relative to said wall means;
• and
• actuation means for mechanically displacing said membrane substantially in axial direction, said actuation means comprise a lever of predetermined length;
• wherein said manual pumping unit includes guiding means connected to said lever and being fastened to a center region of said first portion of said cup-shaped membrane.

A milk pump for pumping milk from a woman's breast, comprising:

• milk collecting means for receiving milk pumped from said woman's breast;
• a manual pumping unit which includes:
• wall means forming and surrounding a displacement space, said displacement space defining a longitudinal axis and having a predetermined cross-sectional dimension;
• connecting means for connecting said displacement space to a breast hood;
• suction means displaceable in said displacement space substantially along said longitudinal axis, said suction means being formed as a pot-shaped membrane so as to have a bottom surface and a circumferential surface, said membrane being able to move substantially free of friction relative to said wall means;
• and
• actuation means for mechanically displacing said suction means substantially in axial direction.

A milk pump for pumping milk from a woman's breast, comprising:

• milk collecting means for receiving milk pumped from said woman's breast;
• a manual pumping unit which includes:
• wall means forming and surrounding a displacement space, said displacement space defining a longitudinal axis and having a predetermined cross-sectional dimension;
• connecting means for connecting said displacement space to a breast hood;
• suction means displaceable in said displacement space substantially along said longitudinal axis, said suction means having a membrane of a certain membrane thickness and being at least approximately in a shape of a spherical cap, said membrane being able to move substantially free of friction relative to said wall means and, due to its elasticity, exerting a restoring force;
• and
• actuation means for mechanically displacing said suction means substantially in axial direction.
