Substituted sulfonamides and ureas useful for inhibiting kinase activity

A compound, including pharmaceutically acceptable salts or solvates of said compound, said compound having the general structure shown in Formula II:

• wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of H, straight chain C1-C6 alkyl;
• branched C1-C6 alkyl;
• —(CH2)p—Ar1;
• and —(CH2)p—R4, wherein p is 1 or 2;
• Ar1 is phenyl or naphthyl optionally substituted with a straight chain or branched C1-C6 alkyl group;
• and
• R4 is C5-C7 cycloalkyl;
• R2 is selected from the group consisting of:
• R5 is selected from the group consisting of H, straight chain C1-C6 alkyl;
• branched C1-C6 alkyl;
• R3 is —(CH2)q—Ar2 or —(CH=CH)-Phenyl, wherein q is an integer from 0 to 4;
• and Ar2 is selected from the group consisting of:
• X is:
• Y is selected from the group consisting of:
• with the proviso that when Y is any of the moieties:
• then R1 is H.
