Abstract
The invention relates to a thermoreversible oil-in-water emulsion comprising: a TLR4 agonist, the chemical structure of which does not comprise a sugar ring, squalene, a nonionic surfactant belonging to the polyoxyethylene alkyl ether chemical group, a hydrophilic surfactant, an aqueous solvent, and which shows immunostimulating properties.
Claims40
An Oil-in-Water (O/W) emulsion comprising:
- i) a TLR4 agonist, called TLA4, the chemical structure of which does not comprise a sugar ring,
- ii) squalene,
- iii) an aqueous solvent,
- iv) a nonionic hydrophilic surfactant which is a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether,
- v) a nonionic hydrophobic surfactant, and
- which is thermoreversible.
3 more elements
A process for preparing a vaccine composition, said process comprising:
- a) preparing an inverse W/O emulsion comprising a TLR4 agonist by heating the compounds of the emulsion to a temperature that is at least the phase inversion temperature of the emulsion;
- b) transforming the W/O emulsion into an O/W emulsion by cooling the W/O emulsion to a temperature that is below the phase inversion temperature of the emulsion;
- c) optionally diluting the O/W emulsion;
- and
- d) mixing a vaccine antigen with the O/W emulsion,
- wherein the chemical structure of the TLR4 agonist does not comprise a sugar ring.
