Abstract
Methods and compositions using an isolate Bacillus subtilis strain for treating a sample are disclosed. The methods and compositions disclosed are used in samples to affect a change in the sample such as cleaning the samples of unwanted elements or organisms (e.g., the presence or overgrowth of algae or fungi).

A method of preventing or treating a condition of a sample comprising a step of applying a composition to the sample, wherein the composition comprising an isolated Bacillus subtilis strain ATCC PTA-7736.
An isolated, biologically pure Bacillus subtilis strain, which is deposited under American Type Culture Collection with a patent deposit designation number PTA-7736 (ATCC PTA-7736).
