Abstract
The invention relates to fastener molding. In one aspect, a molding apparatus includes a cylindrical member defining a void extending radially inward from a peripheral surface of the member. The molding apparatus also includes an insert member configured to be disposed within the void.
Claims38
A molding apparatus, comprising:
- a cylindrical member defining a void extending radially inward from a peripheral surface of the cylindrical member;
- and
- an insert configured to be disposed within the void, the insert and the cylindrical member cooperating to define a molding cavity when the insert is disposed within the void, the molding cavity being shaped to mold, from molten resin introduced into the molding cavity, a fastener element for releasable engagement with a mating fastener product.
A molding apparatus, comprising:
- a cylindrical member defining a void extending radially inward from a peripheral surface of the cylindrical member;
- and
- an insert configured to be disposed within the void, the insert and the cylindrical member cooperating to define a molding cavity when the insert is disposed within the void, the molding cavity being shaped to mold an element from molten resin introduced into the molding cavity.
A molding device, comprising:
- a cylindrical member defining a void extending radially inward from a peripheral surface of the cylindrical member;
- an insert disposed within the void of the cylindrical member, the insert comprising a body portion and at least one laterally extending portion that extends laterally from the body portion;
- and
- an end cap coupled to the cylindrical member, the end cap defining a groove extending laterally from a side surface of the end cap and receiving the laterally extending portion of the insert such that the insert is restrained within the groove of the end cap.
