A method of identifying a probability that a patient with prostate cancer has a severe form of prostate cancer, comprising assaying ANX7 protein expression in a tissue sample from the patient's prostate;
- wherein, if ANX7 protein is not expressed above a negligible level in the patient's prostate, the patient is identified as having a high probability of having a severe form of prostate cancer;
- and
- wherein, if ANX7 protein is expressed above a negligible level in the patient's prostate, the patient is identified as having a low probability of having a severe form of prostate cancer.
An assay complex comprising at least one prostate tissue sample or tissue sample extract, at least one antibody that can specifically bind ANX7, and at least one label.
