Abstract
Embodiments of the invention provide a technique for rendering components included in a computer-aided design (CAD) drawing of a utility network, such as system of pipes and related equipment. Display settings may specify whether a particular component should be rendered using 2-line, 1-line or graphical 1-line display representations, based on the size of that component in the CAD drawing.
Claims25
A method for generating a computer-aided design (CAD) drawing of a utility network, the method comprising:
- receiving a command to add a component to the CAD drawing;
- selecting a display representation to use in rendering a display of the component in the CAD drawing, wherein the display representation is a 2-line, a 1-line, or a graphical 1-line display representation;
- and
- rendering the display of the component using the selected display representation.
A method of rendering a computer-aided design (CAD) drawing of a utility network, the method comprising:
- identifying a collection of components included in the CAD drawing, wherein each component includes an attribute identifying a size of the component;
- retrieving display settings defining whether a particular component should be rendered using a 1-line, a 2-line, or a graphical 1-line display representation;
- and
- for each component in the collection of components, rendering a display of the component using either the 2-line, the 1-line, or the graphical 1-line display representation, based on the identified size of the component.
A computer-readable medium storing instructions for generating a computer-aided design (CAD) drawing of a utility network, including the steps of:
- receiving a command to add a component to the CAD drawing;
- selecting a display representation to use in rendering a display of the component in the CAD drawing, wherein the display representation is a 2-line, a 1-line, or a graphical 1-line display representation;
- and
- rendering the display of the component using the selected display representation.
A computing device comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory configured to store an application that includes instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations for generating a computer-aided design (CAD) drawing of a utility network, including the steps of:
- receiving a command to add a component to the CAD drawing;
- selecting a display representation to use in rendering a display of the component in the CAD drawing, wherein the display representation is a 2-line, a 1-line or a graphical 1-line display representation;
- and
- rendering the display of the component using the selected display representation.
