Abstract
The invention relates to compositions comprising of SEQ NO: 1-244, 248-249, and any homologs, analogs, and fragments thereof. Such compositions can be used to treat, prevent, and modulate pain, inflammation, and metabolic processes in various organisms including plants and animals. Such compositions can be formulated with an acceptable pharmaceutical excipient for administration to a human or a plant. The compositions can be administered topically or for systemic use.
Claims13
A method of treating or preventing a condition in an animal by modulating an opioid receptor said method comprising the step of administering to said animal a composition that modulates said opioid receptor comprising:
- SEQ ID NO:
- 1, or a homolog thereof having at least 50% sequence identity, or an analog thereof.
A method of treating or preventing a condition in an animal by modulating an opioid receptor said method comprising the step of administering to said animal a composition comprising:
- a fragment comprising at least 3 amino acids of any one of SEQ ID NOs:
- 1-3, 5, 8-11, 49, 245-247, 250-256, or a homolog thereof having at least 60% sequence identity, or an analog thereof.
A method of treating or preventing a condition in an animal by modulating an opioid receptor said method comprising the step of administering to said animal a composition comprising a fragment of at least 3 amino acids of the reverse of any one of SEQ ID NOs:
- 1-3, 5, 8-11, 49, 245-247, 250-256, or a homolog thereof having at least 60% sequence identity or an analog thereof.
