The backlight assembly includes a light source supplying light and a fixing member receiving the light source. A deflection preventing portion having a predetermined width is formed on a surface of the fixing member in a direction crossing a diagonal on the surface of the fixing member

A backlight assembly comprising:
- a light source;
- and
- a fixing member receiving the light source,
- wherein at least one deflection preventing portion having a predetermined width is integrally formed with a surface of the fixing member in a direction crossing a diagonal of the surface of the fixing member and the surface faces away from the light source.
