An isolated antibody that binds specifically to a biologically active polypeptide having phosphatonin activity.
A method of diagnosing a patient, comprising:
- extracting polynucleotide sequences from the patient;
- determining the presence of a mutation in the extracted polynucleotide which mutation is relative to a normal native polynucleotide sequence encoding a biologically active polypeptide having phosphatonin activity.
A method of diagnosing a patient, comprising the steps of:
- extracting a sample from the patient;
- determining the level of a polypeptide in the sample wherein the polypeptide is a biologically active polypeptide having phosphatonin activity.
A method of screening, comprising:
- contacting a biologically active polypeptide having phosphatonin activity with a compound to be screened;
- determining interactions between the polypeptide and the compound screened.
An isolated amino acid sequence with 90% or more amino acid sequence homology to an amino acid sequence chosen from SEQ ID NO:2 and SEQ ID NO:27 wherein the polypeptide has phosphatonin activity.
A formulation comprising:
- a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier;
- and
- an isolated amino acid sequence with 90% or more amino acid sequence homology to an amino acid sequence chosen from SEQ ID NO:2 and SEQ ID NO:27 wherein the polypeptide has phosphatonin activity.
