Abstract
A liquid crystal display and a method of manufacturing the same include a first display panel and a second display panel that face each other, a sealant that contains polymer resin formed by curing methacrylic acid or a s derivative thereof to sealingly assemble the first display panel and the second display panel, and a liquid crystal provided in the region between the first display panel and the second display panel.

A sealant comprising:
- methacrylic acid or a derivative thereof;
- a photoinitiator;
- and
- a filler.

A liquid crystal display comprising:
- a first display panel and a second display panel that face each other;
- a sealant that comprises polymer resin formed by curing methacrylic acid or a derivative thereof to assemble the first display panel and the second display panel;
- and
- a liquid crystal that is provided in a region defined by the sealant between the first display panel and the second display panel.

A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display, comprising:
- forming a first display panel and a second display panel having a plurality of thin film patterns;
- forming a sealant that comprises methacrylic acid and a derivative thereof on any one of the first display panel and the second display panel;
- providing a liquid crystal on any one of the first display panel and the second display panel;
- assembling the first display panel and the second display panel;
- and curing the sealant.
