Abstract
A powdered tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate (TPGS™) having an average particle size of less than about 1000 microns. In one embodiment, the powdered tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate is prepared by a process that includes atomizing a fluidic tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate into an environment suitable for solidifying the atomized tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate. In another embodiment, the powdered tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate is prepared by a process of applying a force to a solid tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate starting material that is sufficient to produce a powdered product.
Claims16
A composition comprising a powdered tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate wherein the tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate has a polyethylene glycol moiety having a number average molecular weight ranging from about 200 to about 20,000 and the powdered tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate has an average particle size of less than about 1000 microns.
A method for preparing a powdered tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate comprising atomizing a fluidic tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate into an environment suitable for solidifying the atomized tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate.
A method for preparing a powdered tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate composition comprising physically processing a solid tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate starting material in a manner that is effective to produce a powdered product.
