Serving-grant allocation method for high-speed uplink packet access systems

A method for providing transmission allocation information in a wireless network, the method comprising:

• receiving transmission allocation information from a wireless network controller;
• processing the transmission allocation information received from the wireless network controller;
• determining whether a serving-grant option is provided and whether a grant choice is primary based on at least information associated with the received transmission allocation information;
• if the transmission allocation information includes a transmission allocation value, storing the transmission allocation value as a value for a stored-secondary grant based on at least the determining whether a serving-grant option is provided and whether a grant choice is primary.

A system for determining transmission allocation in a wireless network, the system comprising:

• a system component configured to:
• receive transmission allocation information from a wireless network controller, the transmission allocation information including at least a transmission allocation value;
• process the transmission allocation information received from the wireless network controller;
• determine whether a serving-grant option is provided and whether a grant choice is primary based on at least information associated with the received transmission allocation information;
• store the transmission allocation value as a value for a stored-secondary grant based on at least the determining whether a serving-grant option is provided and whether a grant choice is primary.

A method for providing transmission allocation information in a wireless network, the method comprising:

• receiving transmission allocation information from a wireless network controller;
• processing the transmission allocation information received from the wireless network controller;
• determining whether the transmission allocation information includes a first serving-grant value and whether the transmission allocation information includes a second serving-grant value based on at least information associated with the received transmission allocation information;
• storing the second serving-grant value as a value for a stored-secondary grant based on at least the determining whether the transmission allocation information includes a first serving-grant value and a second serving-grant value.

A system for determining transmission allocation in a wireless network, the system comprising:

• a system component configured to:
• receive transmission allocation information from a wireless network controller;
• process the transmission allocation information received from the wireless network controller;
• determine whether the transmission allocation information includes a first serving-grant value and whether the transmission allocation information includes a second serving-grant value based on at least information associated with the received transmission allocation information;
• store the second serving-grant value as a value for a stored-secondary grant based on at least the determining whether the transmission allocation information includes a first serving-grant value and a second serving-grant value.
