Airport light installation with split ring adapter

An airport light base, comprising:

• a light base container having an upper end with an inverted flange having an outer face, an opposing inner face facing into the light base container, and a continuous inwardly directed edge bounding a first opening into the light base container;
• bases removably secured to the inner face of the flange;
• a segment carried by each of the bases;
• and
• the segments extending outboard of the edge of the flange for reception of an inset light fixture thereon.

An airport light base, comprising:

• a light base container having an upper end with an inverted flange having a continuous inwardly directed edge bounding an opening into the light base container;
• bases removably secured to the flange;
• a segment carried by each of the bases;
• the segments extending outboard of the edge of the flange for reception of an inset light fixture thereon;
• and
• a second opening into the light base container formed by the segments, wherein the second opening is smaller than and opposes the first opening.

An airport light base, comprising:

• a light base container having an upper end with an inverted flange having an outer face, an opposing inner face facing into the light base container, and a continuous inwardly directed edge bounding a first opening into the light base container;
• bases removably secured to the inner face of the flange;
• a segment carried by each of the bases;
• the segments extending outboard of the edge of the flange for reception of an inset light fixture thereon;
• a second opening into the light base container formed by the segments, the second opening smaller than and opposing the first opening;
• and
• the segments and the second opening underlying the first opening.
