An input section allows a user to input an input signal including selection information and operational direction information. A dimensional constraint data storing section stores dimensional constraint data of a graphic object. An extent data storing section stores extent data of the graphic object. An arithmetic section determines a moving direction of a selected graphic object on the basis of the dimensional constraint data and data of an initial moving direction.
