Abstract
A method of treating waste comprises the steps of drying said waste and submitting said dried waste to gasification for producing a combustible gas, characterised in that the method comprises the step of separating the waste into a portion for shredding and a portion for filtering prior to drying.

A method of treating waste, comprising the steps of:
- selecting primarily solid waste;
- shredding and drying said waste;
- and
- submitting said dried waste to gasification for producing a combustible gas;
- wherein the method also comprises the steps of selecting primarily liquid waste containing solids in suspension and of filtering said liquid waste to substantially separate the solids from the liquid waste.

- wherein the method further comprises a step of submitting odorous emissions to a thermal oxidiser.
