An apparatus for performing a function on a bed providing a plurality of functions, the bed having a frame, a deck coupled to the frame to support a mattress, and a communication network, the apparatus comprising:
- a charting module;
- coupled to the communication network, the charting module having an interface configured to be coupled to an input device for inputting information to the charting module, the charting module storing the information and transmitting the information to the communication network.
