Abstract
A portable measuring device for use in sport may include a housing provided with a sensor, a receiver, emitter, and a processing unit. The housing may transmit signals from the sensor of the housing to a remote display and may act as relay, receiving signals from a remote detector worn by a user and re-emitting the signals to the remote display.

A portable measuring instrument, particularly for use in sport, comprising:
- a housing comprising:
- a sensor;
- a receiver;
- a transmitter;
- and
- a processing unit;
- wherein the housing is adapted to transmit signals coming from the sensor to the housing intended to be worn by a user, and wherein the housing functions as a relay by receiving signals coming from a remote detector intended to be worn by a user and retransmitting these signals to the housing.
