An implantable medical electrode comprising:
- an electrode substrate having an exterior surface;
- and
- a zirconium nitride coating disposed over the exterior surface of the electrode substrate.
A method for fabricating an implantable electrode, the method comprising forming a zirconium nitride coating over an exterior surface of an electrode substrate by electrochemical deposition.
A method for fabricating an implantable electrode, the method comprising sputter depositing zirconium ions and nitrogen ions over an exterior surface of an electrode substrate to form a zirconium nitride coating over the exterior surface.
