Abstract
Disclosed are methods of treating an anxiety disorder, e.g., obsessive compulsive disorder, in an individual, comprising identifying an individual in need thereof and treating that individual to antagonize opioid receptor activity and to restore normal monoaminergic tone within the synapse.

A method of treating an anxiety disorder comprising identifying a patient suffering from or at risk of suffering from an anxiety disorder, and administering to the patient a first compound and a second compound, wherein said first compound is an opioid antagonist or opioid receptor partial agonist and said second compound modulates monoaminergic synaptic activity.
A method of treating a movement disorder comprising identifying a patient suffering from or at risk of suffering from a movement disorder, and administering to the patient a first compound and a second compound, wherein said first compound is an opioid antagonist or opioid receptor partial agonist and said second compound modulates monoaminergic synaptic activity.
