Abstract
Novel human polynucleotides are disclosed that correspond to human gene trapped sequences, or GTSs. The disclosed GTSs are useful for gene discovery and as markers for, inter alia, gene expression analysis, identifying and mapping the coding regions of the mammalian, and particularly human, genome, forensic analysis, and determining the genetic basis of human disease.
Claims9
An isolated polynucleotide comprising at least 25 contiguous nucleotides of any of SEQ ID NOS:10-5,504, or the complement thereof.
A combination comprising a plurality of cDNAs, wherein said plurality of cDNAs comprises any 15 of SEQ ID NOS:10-5,504, or the complement thereof.
A computer-based system for identifying an exon sequence of the human genome, comprising:
- a) a data storage means comprising the nucleotide sequence of any of SEQ ID NOS:10-5,504, or the complement thereof;
- and
- b) search means for comparing a target genomic nucleotide sequence of the human genome to the nucleotide sequence of said data storage means to identify a homologous sequence, wherein the presence of a homologous sequence identifies an exon sequence of the human genome.
