Abstract
The invention discloses a coating method, whereby a metal coating (12) of particles is deposited from the gas phase on a flat, metal substrate (22) retained by a substrate holder (11) at a reduced pressure, and whereby the particles are evaporated by means of at least one energy source (5) from containers constituting at least one evaporation source (7). The metal coating (12) is built up of several sequentially applied individual coatings (21).

Coating method, whereby a metal coating of particles is deposited from the gas phase on a flat, metal substrate retained by a substrate holder at a reduced pressure, and whereby the particles are evaporated by means of at least one energy source from containers constituting at least one evaporation source, wherein the metal coating is built up of several sequentially applied individual coatings.
Device for coating a flat, metal substrates in the gas phase with a metal coating of particles at a reduced pressure, comprising a vacuum-tight housing, a drum-shaped substrate holder, at least one electron beam evaporator for creating the particles and at least one container forming an evaporation source for the particles, wherein the substrate holder is connected to a heating and cooling system.
