Abstract
Included are gum compositions which include free, unencapsulated neotame. These compositions provide sweetness without the need for a modifying agent to increase release of the neotame from the gum.
Claims20
A composition comprising:
- (a) a gum base;
- and
- (b) a sweetener composition comprising:
- (i) free, unencapsulated neotame;
- and
- (ii) an encapsulated high intensity sweetener.
A method of providing a long lasting sweetening sensation comprising providing a composition comprising a gum base and a sweetener composition comprising free, unencapsulated neotame and an encapsulated high intensity sweetener other than neotame.
A method of providing a gum composition having a stable neotame release comprising preparing a composition comprising a gum base and a sweetener composition comprising free, unencapsulated neotame and an encapsulated high intensity sweetener other than neotame.
A composition comprising:
- (a) a gum base;
- (b) a sweetener composition comprising:
- (i) free, unencapsulated neotame;
- and
- (ii) an encapsulated high intensity sweetener;
- and
- (c) at least one other sweetener in addition to said sweetener composition. wherein said other sweetener is selected from the group consisting of sugar, polyalcohols, high intensity sweeteners, and combinations thereof.
A composition comprising:
- gum base, bulking agent, plasticizer, flavor, and a sweetener composition comprising free neotame, at least one high intensity sweetener which is encapsulated and at least one other high intensity sweetener, wherein said other high intensity sweetener is optionally encapsulated.
