An edible animal food scoop formulated to promote dental health is provided. The edible animal food scoop is used to dispense animal food from a container and, typically when the container is empty, is provided to the animal for chewing or consumption. Chewing the edible animal food scoop facilitates dental health.

An animal dental care system, the system comprising:
- a container;
- animal food contained in the container;
- and
- an edible animal food scoop formulated to promote dental health, wherein providing the edible animal food scoop to the animal for consumption promotes the dental health of the animal.
