Abstract
The invention provides for the treatment of diseases or disorders characterized by cells expressing the CD40 membrane glycoprotein. The invention provides methods for the treatment of various diseases or disorders characterized by cells expressing CD40 with a combination of an agent causes the depletion of cells expressing CD40 and a second agent which causes the depletion of cells expressing the CD20 membrane antigen. Pharmaceutical compositions and articles of manufacture such as kits comprising the agents and combinations thereof are also provided.

A method for the treatment of a neoplastic disease or disorder characterized by cells expressing CD40 in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal a therapeutically effective amount of a CD40 specific agent in combination with a CD20 specific agent.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising in an amount effective for the treatment of a neoplastic disease or disorder characterized by cells expressing CD40:
- (a) a CD40 specific agent;
- (b) a CD20 specific agent and (c) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
A kit comprising (a) a CD40 specific agent;
- (b) a CD20 specific agent and optionally, (c) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
A method for the treatment of an autoimmune disease or disorder characterized by cells expressing CD40 in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal a therapeutically effective amount of a CD40 specific agent in combination with a CD20 specific agent.
A method for the treatment of a neoplastic disease or disorder characterized by cells expressing CD40 in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal a therapeutically effective amount of a CD40 specific agent in combination with a CD20 specific agent, wherein said specific agent is a synthetic or native peptide or a small molecule which binds to CD40 or CD20.
A method for the treatment of a neoplastic disease or disorder characterized by cells expressing CD20 in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal a therapeutically effective amount of a CD20 specific agent in combination with a CD40 specific agent.
