Abstract
A detector is provided for an x-ray imaging system. The detector includes a photosensitive region with an area less than half of an area of a scintillator cell, from which the photosensitive region receives light.

A detector comprising a photosensitive region with an area less than half of an area of a scintillator cell from which said photosensitive region receives light.
An x-ray imaging system comprising:
- an x-ray source configured to generate x-rays;
- and
- an x-ray detector module configured to detect the x-rays, wherein said x-ray detector module comprises a photosensitive region with an area less than half of an area of a scintillator cell from which said photosensitive region receives light.
A computed tomography imaging system comprising:
- an x-ray source configured to generate x-rays;
- an x-ray detector module configured to detect the x-rays, wherein said x-ray detector module comprises a photosensitive region with an area less than half of an area of a scintillator cell from which said photosensitive region receives light;
- and
- an image reconstructor configured to reconstruct an image from information generated from the x-rays.
