The invention relates to a hand press (1) for food, i.e. garlic. Said invention is characterised by a double lever transmission, which arises due to the co-operation of a receiving container (2), a tappet (3), two handles (4,5) and two lever arms (6,7) which are specifically arranged in a pivotable manner therebetween. Pressing with minimal effort takes place due to a translation which is produced by the double ever transmission. Additional advantages of said device are that it can be manufactured with minimal edge clearance between the tappet (3) and the receiving container (2), a stopping agent (71) for automatically positioning the tappet (3), a return spring (8) for automatically opening the hand press (1), and an anti-adhesive coating of the discharge (33) on the tappet (3) and the base (20) of the receiving container (2)
A hand press (1) for a material intended for pressing in the form of a foodstuff comprising a receiving container (2) for the material intended for pressing, a ram (3), a first handle (4) and a second handle (5), in conjunction with which the first (4) and the second handles (5) are pivotally attached to one another, characterized in that the hand press (1) in addition exhibits a first lever arm (6) which, close to a first end, is attached to the receiving container (2) and, close to a second end, is pivotally attached to the first handle (4), in that the hand press (1) in addition exhibits a second lever arm (7) which, close to a first end, is attached to the ram (3) and, close to a second end, is pivotally attached to the second handle (5), and in that the first (6) and the second lever arms (7) are pivotally attached to one another.
