Embedded macros

A system for evaluating an embedded macro, comprising:

• a macro that is embedded in an event;
• a regular property associated with the event, wherein the regular property comprises an indicator that the macro is embedded in the event;
• a shadow property corresponding to the regular property, wherein the shadow property comprises a binary representation of the macro;
• and
• a macro engine that is arranged to:
• load the binary representation of the macro when the event triggers, and
• evaluate the macro by determining whether actions in the macro are trusted.

A computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for evaluating a macro embedded in an event, the instructions comprising:

• setting a regular event property value to an empty string, wherein the empty string indicates that a macro is embedded in the event;
• generating a shadow property that is associated with the regular event property, wherein the shadow property comprises a binary representation of the macro;
• identifying the embedded macro from the indicator in the regular event property when the event triggers;
• accessing the binary representation of the macro in the shadow property;
• and
• evaluating the macro by determining whether actions in the macro are trusted.
