Abstract
A method of aligning development of an information technology system with business objectives can include obtaining a plurality of metrics relating to a development process for the information technology system and comparing the plurality of metrics with at least one quantified business objective relating to the information technology system to determine a delta between the plurality of metrics and the quantified business objective(s). The method further can include automatically performing a programmatic action, wherein the programmatic action regulates, according to the delta, at least one resource available for use in the development process for the information technology system.

A method of aligning development of an information technology system with business objectives comprising:
- obtaining a plurality of metrics relating to a development process for the information technology system;
- comparing the plurality of metrics with at least one quantified business objective relating to the information technology system to determine a delta between the plurality of metrics and the at least one quantified business objective;
- and
- automatically performing a programmatic action, wherein the programmatic action regulates, according to the delta, at least one resource available for use in the development process for the information technology system.
A system for aligning a development process for an information technology system with established business objectives comprising:
- at least one measurement system configured to collect metrics relating to the development process for the information technology system;
- a comparator configured to compare the collected metrics from said at least one measurement system with the established business objectives to determine a measure of convergence;
- and
- a controller configured to interpret the measure of convergence to select and regulate, automatically, at least one variable of the development process.
A machine readable storage, having stored thereon a computer program having a plurality of code sections comprising:
- code for collecting a plurality of metrics relating to a development process for an information technology system;
- code for comparing the plurality of metrics with at least one quantified business objective relating to the information technology system to determine a delta between the plurality of metrics and the at least one quantified business objective;
- and
- code for automatically performing a programmatic action, wherein the programmatic action regulates, according to the delta, at least one resource available for use in the development process for the information technology system.
