Process for displaying objects of a PLM database and apparatus implementing this process

Apparatus for selecting an object in a PLM database containing modeled objects, the apparatus comprising means for implementing the steps a process for displaying objects of a PLM database, the process comprising:

• providing a PLM database containing modeled objects and a graphical user interface (100);
• identifying (S200) a viewpoint on a view (110) of objects (21-24) to be rendered;
• and
• rendering (S210-270) said view according to the viewpoint,
• wherein the step of rendering comprises:
• determining (S210) a plurality of locations (32a-i) in the view;
• searching the database and identifying therein modeled objects (21-24) according to the determined locations;
• and
• incrementally displaying (S220-S270) in the graphical user interface the modeled objects (21-24) identified so as to rendering said view (110).

A computer program, stored on a computer readable medium, for selecting an object in a PLM database containing modeled objects, comprising code means for causing a computer to take the steps of a process for displaying objects of a PLM database, the process comprising:

• providing a PLM database containing modeled objects and a graphical user interface (100);
• identifying (S200) a viewpoint on a view (110) of objects (21-24) to be rendered;
• and
• rendering (S210-270) said view according to the viewpoint,
• wherein the step of rendering comprises:
• determining (S210) a plurality of locations (32a-i) in the view;
• searching the database and identifying therein modeled objects (21-24) according to the determined locations;
• and
• incrementally displaying (S220-S270) in the graphical user interface the modeled objects (21-24) identified so as to rendering said view (110).

A process for displaying objects of a PLM database, comprising:

• providing a PLM database containing modeled objects and a graphical user interface (100);
• receiving dynamical definition of a viewpoint by a user;
• identifying (S200) the viewpoint on a view (110) of objects (21-24) to be rendered;
• and
• rendering (S210-270) said view according to the viewpoint,
• wherein the step of rendering comprises:
• determining (S210) a plurality of locations (32a-i) in the view;
• searching the database and identifying therein modeled objects (21-24) according to the determined locations, wherein the step of determining the plurality of locations is performed dynamically, according to the user definition of the viewpoint;
• and
• incrementally displaying (S220-S270) in the graphical user interface the modeled objects (21-24) identified so as to rendering said view (110).

A process for displaying objects of a PLM database, comprising:

• providing a PLM database containing modeled objects and a graphical user interface (100) and display components (21uf, 21sf) of the modeled objects (21-24);
• receiving dynamical definition of a viewpoint by a user;
• identifying (S200) the viewpoint on a view (110) of objects (21-24) to be rendered;
• and
• rendering (S210-270) said view according to the viewpoint,
• wherein the step of rendering comprises:
• determining (S210) a plurality of locations (32a-i) in the view;
• searching the database and identifying therein modeled objects (21-24) according to the determined locations, wherein the step of determining the plurality of locations is performed dynamically, according to the user definition of the viewpoint;
• incrementally displaying (S220-S270) in the graphical user interface, including incrementally displaying (S220-S230) the display components (21uf, 21sf), the modeled objects (21-24) identified so as to rendering said view (110), and
• streaming (S220-230, SS240-250) display components of the modeled objects identified.
