Abstract
The present invention relates to systems and methods for facilitating the movement of content using a portable knowledge format data structure. The portable knowledge format data structure of the present invention comprises one or more items of content. The portable knowledge format data structure further comprises metadata corresponding to the one or more items of content. The data structure maintains an index corresponding to the one or more items of content, as well as an indication of a hierarchy among the one or more items of content.

A data structure for facilitating the movement of content, the data structure comprising:
- one or more items of content;
- metadata corresponding to the one or more items of content;
- an index corresponding to the one or more items of content;
- and
- an indication of a hierarchy among the one or more items of content.
